The sequel takes place in Loi-Ka district, Chiang Mai, Thailand, 20 years after the events of the first movie. The film begins when Kham returns to Loi-Ka district to find government troops in control, and discovers that his old friend, Jam, has been kidnapped for ransom. Kham travels to Cambodia to find Jam and bring her back to Thailand. After some confusion over the fact that they are traveling to the same location, Kham and Jam venture to the U.N. office in Bangkok to try to find the original group of soldiers who led the attack on Kham's family. While waiting, they talk about their childhood and flirt. Kham tells Jam about childhood dreams of becoming a warrior.
An unimaginably deep recession is crushing the Europe, and the already employment situation is turning even more dismal. No businesses or multinational corporations can afford to keep employees, let alone hire new ones. Most of the industrialized nations, especially Germany and Britain, have even crawled back into recession. Unemployment is spiraling out of control, both the demand for labor and the supply of jobs are hopelessly low. American and Japanese GDP suffer from the same crisis, but they have been able to lean on a vast surplus of products from the protector. With money on the line, the government and the company are forced to take drastic measures in order to salvage what is left of a failed economy.
